Hi, thank you very much for purchasing SM theme. We've put a lot of hard work into it. It is our first theme with new page editor. It's a new editor recently introduced by WordPress

WordPress Information

WordPress is well-known for its ease of installation. Under most circumstances, installing WordPress is a very simple process and takes less than five minutes to complete. Wordpress.org already have complete installation guide. You can find article "How to install WordPress" here.

Theme installation

To get started with SM theme, simply download the theme and install it on your WordPress website. From there, you can choose one of the three templates and start customizing your website to your liking. If you need any help along the way, the theme comes with comprehensive documentation and a support team that's always ready to help.

Detailed

1. Go to Appearance -> Themes -> Add New
2. Find button Upload theme select SM theme theme zip
3. To activate it in Appearance -> Themes under SM theme theme click "activate"
4. Theme already have installed demo data

Set a "Home" Page

We prepared shourtcuts for selecting default home page. To select it:

1. Go to Theme settings -> Theme settings
2. Right next to Homepage Settings click on button Customize
3. Click on the Homepage dropdown list and select the Home page you created for your static homepage
4. Click on the Posts page page dropdown list and select the Posts page you created

Navigation

New page editor changed settings of navigation. To change or create navigation you'll need to open page editor

1. Go to Appearance → Editor
2. YOu should see preview of your page. Locate your header
3. Find Navigation block. You can help with List list view (button located in the top left corner)
4. In left part of the screen you will find
5. Navigate to Manage Locations tab (at the top of the screen)
6. Choose your new menu as Main Navigation
7. Click Save Menu

Full Site Editor

SM theme uses new full page site editor. FSE is is a collection of interrelated features that unlocks the ability to edit your entire site using blocks. You can watch more videos on official Wordpress website

Templates

SM theme comes with three templates. To change template go to:

• Appearance -> Ultra Race: Prebuilt Websites
• Select your favorit template and click on Choose

Theme settings

SM theme offer multiple customization. Most of theme you can find in Wordpress Admin under “Theme Options”.

Theme settings

Here you can change general theme settings like default home page, favicon or turning on back on top button.

Header / Footer

In Header / Footer you can customize header and footer templates. You can change your head to sticky or non sticky

Templates

It includes multiple shourtcuts to template customizations.

Blog

Here you can change blog settings like Excerpt Max Words

WooCommerce

If you have installed WooCommerce plugin, you can customize WooCommerce templates.

Contact Form

Here you can change settings of contact form 7. You can customize text and background color. Button styles and other settings

Updates

You can update theme using Wordpress installer or manually using FTP

Manually

1. Download the SM theme.zip from ThemeForest and unzip it
2. Access your server via FTP or SFTP (if you aren’t sure how usually your webhost will have instructions somewhere on their site)
3. Browse to wp-content/themes/
4. Delete and override the un-zipped SM theme folder

Using Wordpress installer

1. Navigate to Appearance > Themes
2. Click on the "Add New" button at the top of the page to add a new theme.
3. To upload the theme, click on the "Upload Theme" button at the top of the page

It is important to note that updating your theme may cause compatibility issues with some plugins or customizations that you have made to your website. It is recommended that you test your website thoroughly after updating your theme to ensure everything is working as expected.

SM theme Child Theme

A child theme allows you to change small aspects of your site’s appearance yet still preserve your theme’s look and functionality. To understand how child themes work it is first important to understand the relationship between parent and child themes.

1. make your modifications portable and replicable;
2. keep customization separate from parent theme functions;
3. allow parent themes to be updated without destroying your modifications;
4. allow you to take advantage of the effort and testing put into parent theme;
5. save on development time since you are not recreating the wheel; and
6. are a great way to start learning about theme development.
